Choosing Goodies for Children's Party Bags
Every year, when your child's birthday rolls around, it's expected that there be some sort of party involved. Parties can either be held at an external location or in your own backyard. When the party ends though, that's when the goody bags are given out, and are a guest's prize for attending. The whole idea of a party bag is for the purpose of thanking the guests for coming and for their presents. Kids absolutely love them because it is pretty much like allowing them to open up presents of their own, even though it isn't their birthday.
Party bags can consist of pretty much anything. Most include such delights as candy and small toys, but others can include customized cups, shirts or hats. Some parents like to make their parties special and have the kids draw their own shirts for the party. Then the kids can take it home as a part of their party bag.
When first designing a party bag, you need to take into account how many you will be making, and what your budget for the bags is. If you spend four or five dollars on each bag, and invite 15 kids, you are already getting yourself into a $70+ predicament. The best way to keep the price low on party bags is to buy wholesale. A good method is to go to your local grocery store and find packs of small toys and fun sized candy for cheap. A pack of around 100 small plastic toys could be anywhere from $5 to $15 depending on the quality of the toys you are buying.
For candy, combo bags are always a good choice. If you buy a bag of Reeses' and some of the kid doesn't like them, then that completely kills the entire excitement for that child. A better choice is to buy a combo bag that contains seven or eight different types of candy, so that all flavors of the board are covered.
Lastly, an important thing to consider is food allergies. Certain types of candy contain common products that children today are allergic to. Products like peanut butter are popular problem makers, and should probably be stayed away from when making a party bag. Also, chocolate products can cause problems for any kids who are lactose intolerant or allergic to milk products. The overall theme is to be as careful as possible when it comes to choosing candy.
